Description

Deep caissons and narrow drainage pipes leave zero room for wide circular pump bases. The Wacker Neuson PS2 800 2in slimline pump slides into tight 8-inch casings with its compact top-discharge architecture. Producing a maximum flow of 82 GPM with 59 feet of head, this 1 HP electric rig draws 9.6 Amps. The narrow base falls over on soft mucky trench bottoms.

Wacker Neuson machines the outer shell from stainless steel and rugged aluminum alloy to shed heat into discharged water. Inside the wet end, a ductile iron semi-vortex impeller prevents aggregate clogging by directing solids away from the seal face. Dual silicon carbide mechanical seals ride in an isolated oil reservoir, shielded by a lip seal. This internal seal configuration resists thermal shock when running dry between inflow surges.

Field Hardware Performance Matrix

Deep excavation work requires compact equipment capable of continuous duty in tight vertical spaces. This submersible motor design combines high-grade wear metals with top-discharge cooling channels for dependable dewatering.

  • 1 HP electric motor with built-in thermal protection prevents stator burnout from low voltage supply.
  • 2-inch top discharge port directs fluid past the motor jacket to cool electrical internals during partial submersion.
  • Ductile iron semi-vortex impeller resists erosion from suspended sand and fine gravel up to 0.25 inches.
  • Double mechanical seals bathed in an oil bath stop abrasive slurry from penetrating the stator cavity.
  • 32-foot heavy-duty power cable features an integrated strain relief boot to endure deep manhole drops.
  • Stainless steel hardware fasteners prevent thread galling and corrosion seizure during shop overhauls.
  • 7.3-inch diameter outer body fits inside standard 8-inch pipe casings for deep foundation dewatering.

Dyno Load Realities Heat Data

Under sustained load cell testing at 3450 RPM on a 115-Volt line, this motor draws 9.4 Amps under 30 feet of dynamic head. Discharge rate registers 54 GPM under these standard head conditions. Motor housing surface temperature levels off at 138°F with 70°F fluid flowing past the internal jacket. Voltage drops below 108 Volts cause an Amp spike to 12.5 Amps, tripping internal breakers in 5 minutes. Sound levels remain under 61 dBA at 3 feet due to wet-well submersion.

Field Service Application Limits

Weighing 29 pounds, this slim tube maneuvers through access ports with ease. Do not drop this unit into raw untreated sewage or thick concrete washout basins. Alkaline concrete slurry petrifies around the impeller shroud and cements the mechanical seal faces solid.

  • Check the seal lubrication oil through the inspection screw every 300 run hours to verify fluid clarity.
  • Flush the pump wet end with clean tap water after every use in salty groundwater or brackish trenches.
  • Inspect the rubber power cord jacket for gouges or cuts before lowering the unit into metal pipes.

Commercial Warranty Package Inventory

Wacker Neuson backs this submersible dewatering unit with a 2-Year limited commercial warranty against defects in materials and craft. The packaging contains the PS2 800 slimline pump, a 2-inch male NPT discharge elbow fitting, the factory-installed 32-foot electrical power cord, and an illustrated parts manual with exploded motor diagrams.
