Description
Tecoma stans ‘Sparklette’™ Esperanza is a vibrant and compact cultivar of the Tecoma stans species, commonly known as yellow bells or yellow trumpetbush. Renowned for its bright, trumpet-shaped golden-yellow flowers, this variety offers a more controlled, bushy growth habit compared to the typical species, making it ideal for smaller gardens and container planting. Native to the southwestern United States and Central America, Tecoma stans has a long history of use in ornamental landscaping for its drought tolerance, rapid bloom cycle, and attractiveness to hummingbirds and pollinators. The ‘Sparklette’™ cultivar was developed to enhance its ornamental appeal through a more compact size and prolific blooming habit, providing a splash of tropical color in a manageable form. Its adaptability to heat and dry conditions, paired with its striking floral display, has made it a favored choice among gardeners seeking low-maintenance, pollinator-friendly plants.
