Description
Rosa x ‘The Fairy’ Rose is a charming and prolific shrub rose known for its dense clusters of small, double, soft pink blossoms that grace the plant from early summer through fall. This compact and hardy cultivar, often reaching about 2 to 3 feet in height, is prized for its continuous blooming habit and disease resistance, making it an excellent choice for borders, mass plantings, or low hedges. Originating from the work of British rose breeder Jack Harkness in the 1970s, ‘The Fairy’ is a hybrid polyantha rose that combines the delicate beauty of old garden roses with improved vigor and repeat flowering. Its fine-textured, glossy dark green foliage adds ornamental appeal even when not in bloom. The rose’s versatility and low-maintenance nature have made it a favorite in both formal and cottage garden settings, celebrated for its ability to attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Recognized for its outstanding landscape performance, ‘The Fairy’ rose has been embraced by gardeners worldwide for its reliability and ornamental charm.
