Description
Plumbago auriculata ‘Monott’ Royal Cape® Cape Leadwort is a vigorous, evergreen shrub prized for its profuse clusters of vibrant sky-blue flowers that bloom from spring through fall, creating a striking cascade of color ideal for borders, trellises, or as a groundcover. Native to South Africa, this cultivar stands out for its enhanced heat and drought tolerance, making it well-suited to warm climates and coastal gardens, where it thrives in full sun and well-drained soils. Its glossy, rounded leaves provide an attractive backdrop to the delicate, five-petaled blooms, which attract butterflies and hummingbirds, adding ecological value to ornamental landscapes. The Royal Cape® variety is a patented selection developed to deliver superior vigor, floriferousness, and disease resistance compared to standard plumbago types, marking it as a standout choice for gardeners seeking a reliable, long-blooming perennial shrub with tropical appeal.
