Description

Mud-choked foundation footings stall low-end transfer units before excavation reaches grade. The Multiquip 2 In. Trash Pump clears solid-laden slurry at 211 GPM with a maximum head pressure of 98 feet. Powered by a commercial Honda GX160 gas engine, this unit passes 1-inch spherical solids. Suction vacuum drops fast if hose connection gaskets deteriorate.

Multiquip wraps this wet end in cast aluminum to reduce cartage weight without surrendering impact strength. Inside the volute, a ductile iron two-vane impeller spins against a replaceable ductile iron wear plate. A silicon carbide mechanical seal runs in an oil bath to endure abrasive suspended silt without burning. Four exterior hand knobs secure the pump cover, permitting quick tool-free cleanout when chunky debris wedges inside the volute throat.

Field Hardware Performance Matrix

Jobsite excavation requires dependable suction lift through abrasive ditch water and thick slurry. Heavy-gauge metal parts and an accessible cleanout design keep site water moving under dirty conditions.

  • Honda GX160 4.8 HP engine delivers consistent torque to the pump shaft at 3600 RPM.
  • 2-inch NPT suction and discharge ports accept standard heavy-duty contractor cam-lock hose fittings.
  • Ductile iron open two-vane impeller passes spherical solids measuring up to 1 inch in diameter.
  • Silicon carbide mechanical seal withstands continuous dry run friction during interrupted prime cycles.
  • Wrap-around 1-inch tubular steel roll cage protects the engine block and wet-end casing from impact.
  • Dual rubber isolation mounts damp vibration between the engine crankcase and the steel tubular base.
  • Die-cast aluminum casing sheds gross transport weight down to 96 pounds dry weight for two-man lifting.

Dyno Load Realities Heat Data

Under continuous dyno test tank load at 3600 RPM, the GX160 engine burns 0.38 GPH of 87-octane gasoline while pushing 195 GPM against a 25-foot static head. Engine oil crankcase temperature peaks at 218°F under a 90°F summer ambient ceiling. The aluminum pump housing warms to 112°F during prolonged suction lifts of 20 feet. Sound pressure reads 76 dBA at 23 feet distance under wide-open throttle. Cavitation chatter begins when suction line vacuum exceeds 22 inches of mercury.

Field Service Application Limits

Rough terrain calls for a two-man carry or a dedicated wheel kit across unpaved jobsites. Do not run this pump on chemical wash water, salt brine, or petrochemical fuel transfers. Caustic fluids corrode the aluminum wet-end and dissolve the inner flapper valve rubber within days.

  • Drain the pump volute through the bottom plug after cold-weather operation to prevent ice from cracking the housing.
  • Flush the engine air filter foam pre-cleaner in warm soapy water every 50 operating hours on dusty excavation jobs.
  • Replace the rubber check valve flap inside the intake port whenever suction priming takes longer than 90 seconds.

Commercial Warranty Package Inventory

Multiquip covers the pump wet end with a 2-Year limited warranty, while Honda backs the GX160 engine with a 3-Year commercial warranty. The shipping box includes the complete QP2TH pump unit, an aluminum pipe strainer, two 2-inch hose couplings with gaskets, and a complete engine spark plug wrench.
