Description
Monarda didyma ‘Petite Delight,’ commonly known as Bee Balm, is a compact and vibrant perennial celebrated for its striking scarlet-red tubular flowers that attract pollinators such as hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Originating from North America, this cultivar is a dwarf selection of the native Monarda didyma, prized for its smaller stature and more manageable growth habit, making it ideal for garden beds and container planting. Distinguished by its aromatic, mint-scented foliage, ‘Petite Delight’ thrives in full sun to partial shade and is valued for its resistance to powdery mildew, a common challenge in Bee Balm varieties. Its long blooming period from mid to late summer adds dynamic color and texture to perennial borders and pollinator gardens. Recognized for its ornamental appeal and ecological benefits, this cultivar continues the legacy of Monarda as both a decorative and wildlife-supporting plant.
