Description
Lagerstroemia indica x fauriei ‘Sarah’s Favorite’ Crape Myrtle is a hybrid variety celebrated for its exceptional disease resistance and extended blooming period. This deciduous shrub or small tree features large clusters of vibrant pink flowers that emerge mid-summer and persist well into fall, providing long-lasting color in the landscape. Originating from a cross between the common Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica) and the hardy Lagerstroemia fauriei, ‘Sarah’s Favorite’ combines the showy floral display of indica with the cold hardiness and disease tolerance of fauriei, making it well-suited for a variety of climates, especially in regions with colder winters. Its smooth, exfoliating bark and attractive dark green foliage add year-round interest, while its upright, vase-shaped growth habit makes it an excellent choice for streetscapes, foundations, and formal gardens. Recognized for its superior landscape performance, ‘Sarah’s Favorite’ has earned accolades from horticultural societies valuing its reliability, ornamental beauty, and low maintenance requirements.
