Description
Ixora coccinea ‘Petite Pink’, commonly known as Dwarf Jungle Geranium, is a compact and vibrant evergreen shrub prized for its dense clusters of small, tubular pink flowers that bloom year-round in warm climates. Native to Southern India and Sri Lanka, this tropical plant thrives in full sun to partial shade and is favored for its heat and drought tolerance, making it a popular choice for low-maintenance landscapes, containers, and garden borders. Its glossy, dark green foliage provides an attractive backdrop to the vividly colored blooms, which attract butterflies and hummingbirds, enhancing garden biodiversity. The ‘Petite Pink’ cultivar is notable for its smaller stature compared to standard Ixora varieties, typically growing up to 2 feet tall, making it ideal for compact spaces and foundation plantings. This cultivar’s continuous flowering habit and ability to perform well in both tropical and subtropical regions have earned it recognition among landscapers and gardeners focused on year-round color and texture in garden design.
