Description
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis ‘Celia Double Red’ is a striking tropical hibiscus known for its vibrant, double-layered red flowers that bring a bold splash of color to any garden or landscape. This cultivar features glossy, dark green foliage that provides a lush backdrop to its abundant blooms, which thrive in warm, sunny climates and are highly attractive to pollinators like hummingbirds and butterflies. Originating from China and widely cultivated throughout tropical and subtropical regions, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis has a rich history as a symbol of beauty and hospitality in many cultures. The ‘Celia Double Red’ variety, prized for its fuller, more dramatic flowers compared to single-petal hibiscus, is popular in containers, hedges, and tropical-themed landscapes. Its drought tolerance, combined with a long blooming season from late spring through fall, makes it both a resilient and ornamental choice. Recognized for its ornamental appeal, this cultivar continues to be favored by gardeners seeking a showy yet low-maintenance tropical shrub.
