Description
Hibiscus moscheutos ‘Head Over Heels Passion,’ commonly known as Rose Mallow, is a striking perennial native to the wetlands and marshes of the eastern United States, celebrated for its dramatic, large, hibiscus-like blooms in vibrant shades of pink and rose. This cultivar is prized for its unique compact, mound-forming habit, which contrasts with the typical sprawling nature of traditional Hibiscus moscheutos, making it an excellent choice for smaller garden spaces or containers. Its lush, dark green foliage provides a rich backdrop to the oversized flowers that can reach up to 6 inches in diameter, blooming profusely from mid-summer through early fall. Adapted to moist soils and full sun, ‘Passion’ thrives in rain gardens, pond edges, or consistently moist beds, offering both ornamental beauty and ecological value by attracting pollinators like hummingbirds and butterflies. Developed by Proven Winners, this cultivar stands out for its improved disease resistance and extended blooming period, contributing to its growing popularity in landscape design.
