Description
Delosperma x ‘Red Mountain Flame’ ®, commonly known as Red Mountain Flame Ice Plant, is a vibrant, drought-tolerant succulent groundcover prized for its stunning, fiery red flowers that bloom profusely from late spring through fall. This hybrid ice plant combines the hardiness and low-maintenance traits of the Delosperma genus with exceptional heat and sun tolerance, making it ideal for rock gardens, dry slopes, and as a colorful, spreading groundcover in xeriscaping. Its fleshy, gray-green leaves provide excellent texture contrast, while the plant’s spreading habit helps control erosion. Originating from South African ice plants, Delosperma species have been widely embraced in North American landscapes for their brilliant blooms and resilience in hot, dry conditions. ‘Red Mountain Flame’ stands out for its intense flower color and extended bloom period, offering a vivid splash of color even under harsh growing conditions, and has been recognized by gardeners for its outstanding ornamental appeal and durability.
