Description
Cornus stolonifera Arctic Fire ® ‘SMNCSBD’, commonly known as Yellow Red-Twig Dogwood, is a striking deciduous shrub renowned for its vibrant yellow stems that add brilliant winter interest to landscapes. Originating from the native red-osier dogwood species (Cornus sericea), this cultivar has been selectively bred to produce an eye-catching golden-yellow twig color that intensifies in cold weather, contrasting beautifully against snow or dull winter backdrops. In addition to its colorful stems, Arctic Fire ® features lush green summer foliage and produces clusters of white flowers in late spring, which later give way to white berries that attract birds. Its natural habit is dense and upright, making it an excellent choice for hedges, borders, and erosion control. This cultivar combines the hardiness and adaptability of native dogwoods with enhanced ornamental qualities. Recognized for its superior winter stem color and year-round landscape appeal, Arctic Fire ® has become a popular selection among landscapers and gardeners seeking low-maintenance, wildlife-friendly shrubs with multi-season interest.
