Description
Buddleja x Flutterby Petite® ‘Podaras 8’ Blue Heaven Butterfly Bush is a compact, dwarf variety of the popular butterfly bush, prized for its prolific, fragrant, sky-blue flower spikes that attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds throughout the summer and into fall. This cultivar features a naturally mounded habit, growing to about 2 to 3 feet tall, making it ideal for smaller gardens, container planting, or as a colorful border accent. Originating from hybridization efforts aimed at creating more manageable, non-invasive butterfly bushes, Flutterby Petite® selections combine the classic beauty and butterfly-attracting qualities of Buddleia davidii with a more compact size and improved hardiness. ‘Blue Heaven’ is noted for its rich, true blue flower color, which adds a vibrant splash of cool tones to garden landscapes. This cultivar is also valued for its tolerance to pruning and adaptability to various soil types, thriving in full sun and well-drained conditions. Its unique blend of ornamental appeal, ecological benefits, and compact growth habit has earned it recognition in the horticultural community as a top choice for butterfly gardens and pollinator-friendly landscapes.
