Description
Buddleia davidii ‘Dapper® Buddaplav’, commonly known as Lavender Butterfly Bush, is a compact and exceptionally floriferous cultivar prized for its prolific, fragrant lavender-purple flower spikes that attract butterflies and hummingbirds throughout the summer and into fall. This cultivar is part of the Dapper® series, known for its improved garden performance, including a more manageable size—typically growing 3 to 4 feet tall—and a tidy, mounded habit that makes it ideal for small gardens and container planting. Originating from the widely admired species Buddleia davidii, native to central China, this hybrid was developed to offer enhanced cold-hardiness and resistance to common issues like floppiness, often observed in traditional butterfly bushes. The Dapper® series has been recognized by horticultural professionals for combining stunning floral display with reliable, low-maintenance growth, making ‘Buddaplav’ a standout choice for pollinator gardens and ornamental borders.
