Description
Brassica oleracea Song Bird™ ‘White’ Ornamental Cabbage & Kale is a striking ornamental plant prized for its vibrant, ruffled foliage that showcases a stunning white center surrounded by deep green outer leaves. This cultivar belongs to the Brassica oleracea species, widely known for its diverse varieties including cabbages, kales, and ornamental types. Song Bird™ ‘White’ is particularly valued for its compact growth habit and enhanced cold tolerance, making it an excellent choice for cool-season landscapes and container displays where it adds texture and visual interest through fall and early winter. Historically, ornamental cabbages and kales have been cultivated for centuries, celebrated for their decorative foliage more than their culinary use. The Song Bird™ series represents advanced breeding efforts to tighten leaf formation and intensify color contrast, resulting in a more refined and garden-worthy ornamental brassica. This cultivar has been recognized within the horticultural community for its garden performance and aesthetic appeal, often used in seasonal displays to create striking color contrasts and foliage interest.
