Description
Antirrhinum majus ‘Mixture’, commonly known as Snapdragon, is a vibrant and versatile annual flower prized for its distinctive dragon-shaped blooms that snap open and shut when gently squeezed, a feature that has captivated gardeners for centuries. Native to the Mediterranean region, Snapdragons have a rich horticultural history dating back to the 16th century, where they were cultivated for both their ornamental appeal and symbolic meanings of grace and strength. This particular ‘Mixture’ variety boasts a colorful blend of blooms in shades ranging from bright yellows and reds to soft pinks and whites, creating a lively display that thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Snapdragons are valued not only for their vertical growth habit, which adds height and texture to garden beds and borders, but also for their extended blooming season from spring through fall, attracting pollinators such as bees and hummingbirds. The combination of striking flower shapes, vibrant color diversity, and ease of cultivation has made Antirrhinum majus ‘Mixture’ a staple in gardens worldwide, with recognition for its garden performance and cut flower quality.
