Description
Hibiscus moscheutos ‘Lord Baltimore’, commonly known as Rose Mallow, is a striking perennial native to the wetlands and marshes of the eastern United States. Renowned for its large, showy blooms that can reach up to 8 inches in diameter, this cultivar features vibrant pink to deep rose flowers with a prominent red eye that attract hummingbirds and butterflies, making it a favorite for pollinator gardens. ‘Lord Baltimore’ thrives in moist, well-drained soils and is highly tolerant of wet conditions, often used in rain gardens and naturalized landscapes. Its impressive height, often growing up to 6 feet tall, combined with its long blooming season from mid-summer through fall, provides both vertical interest and continuous color in garden settings. This hardy hibiscus is easy to care for, cutting back dead stems in early spring to encourage vigorous new growth. Celebrated for its ornamental value and ecological benefits, Hibiscus moscheutos cultivars have been recognized by various horticultural societies for their garden performance and adaptability.
