Description
Hemerocallis x ‘Orange’ Daylily is a vibrant perennial known for its striking, bright orange blooms that bring a bold splash of color to any garden setting. Originating from the hybridization efforts combining various species of Hemerocallis, this daylily is celebrated for its adaptability, ease of care, and extended blooming period, which typically peaks in midsummer. The flowers are trumpet-shaped and typically last only one day, a characteristic trait of daylilies, but the plant produces numerous buds on each scape, ensuring a continuous display of color over several weeks. Its arching, grass-like foliage provides an attractive green backdrop even when the plant is not in bloom, contributing to year-round garden interest. Highly resistant to pests and diseases, Hemerocallis x ‘Orange’ thrives in a variety of soils and light conditions, making it a favorite among both novice and experienced gardeners. This cultivar has been recognized for its outstanding performance and is often recommended by garden experts such as the Missouri Botanical Garden and NC State Extension for landscape use due to its durability and vibrant floral display.
