Description
Magnolia x Little Girl ‘Betty’ is a distinctive hybrid magnolia celebrated for its compact size and stunning floral display, making it an excellent choice for smaller gardens and landscapes. This cultivar features glossy, dark green leaves that provide a lush backdrop to its large, fragrant, creamy-white blooms, which appear in late spring to early summer. Unlike many traditional magnolias that can grow quite large, ‘Betty’ maintains a more manageable, rounded form, typically reaching heights of 8 to 10 feet, allowing it to fit comfortably in urban and suburban settings. Its robust growth habit and disease resistance add to its appeal for gardeners seeking both beauty and durability. Developed through hybridization to combine the elegance of classic magnolia flowers with a smaller stature, ‘Betty’ offers extended seasonal interest and adaptability across a range of climates, particularly thriving in USDA zones 6 through 9. The cultivar has been praised by horticultural experts and featured in several reputable gardening publications for its ornamental value and versatility.
