Acer grandidentatum ‘Rocky Mountain Glow’ ®, commonly known as the Rocky Mountain Glow Sugar Maple, is a stunning cultivar prized for its exceptional autumn foliage and adaptability. Native to the western United States, this small to medium-sized deciduous tree features deeply lobed, glossy green leaves that transform into a vibrant display of fiery reds, oranges, and yellows each fall, earning it a reputation as one of the most spectacular maples for seasonal color. Unlike the more common Acer saccharum sugar maple, ‘Rocky Mountain Glow’ is noted for its drought tolerance and ability to thrive in a variety of soil types, making it ideal for landscapes in regions with less moisture. Its moderate growth rate and compact form lend well to residential yards and urban settings. The cultivar’s unique combination of hardiness, striking fall color, and landscape versatility has garnered attention from horticulturists and landscape professionals alike, highlighting its value as a superior sugar maple selection.
