Description
Buddleja x Color Choice® ‘SMNBDO’ Pugster Periwinkle® Butterfly Bush is a compact, deciduous shrub celebrated for its vibrant periwinkle-blue flower spikes that attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators throughout the summer and into early fall. Developed through selective breeding by Proven Winners, this cultivar is prized for its dwarf size, typically reaching 2 to 3 feet tall and wide, making it an excellent choice for small gardens, containers, or borders where space is limited. Its dense, lance-shaped, gray-green foliage provides a textured backdrop to the profuse, fragrant blossoms, which emerge on new wood, ensuring reliable reblooming after pruning. Originating from the hybridization of Buddleia species known for their butterfly-attracting qualities, the Pugster series combines vibrant flower colors with enhanced cold tolerance and disease resistance. Recognized for its ornamental appeal and wildlife value, this cultivar continues to be a favorite among gardeners seeking a pollinator-friendly, easy-care shrub with a compact habit.
