Description
Rosmarinus officinalis ‘Arp’ Rosemary is a robust, cold-hardy cultivar of the fragrant Mediterranean herb known for its upright growth habit and silvery-green needle-like leaves. Originating as a selection from the traditional rosemary species, ‘Arp’ is especially prized for its exceptional tolerance to colder climates, surviving temperatures well below freezing, which makes it suitable for gardens beyond the typical rosemary growing zones. This cultivar produces delicate pale blue flowers in spring and summer that attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, adding both ornamental value and ecological benefits. Beyond its culinary uses as a flavorful herb in cooking, ‘Arp’ Rosemary is also valued in landscaping for its drought resistance and ability to thrive in well-drained soils with full sun exposure. Its unique combination of hardiness, aromatic foliage, and ornamental blooms has made it a favorite among gardeners seeking a resilient, multi-purpose herb.
