Description

Excavation sumps laden with abrasive sand scour impellers and ruin shaft seals in days. The Tsurumi HS3.75SL Electric Submersible Pump tackles gritty site dewatering with low-head high-volume output of 145 GPM and 38 feet total head. Driven by a 1 HP electric motor pulling 9.6 Amps, this pump manages tough aggregate. The pump cannot run dry without liquid cooling.

Tsurumi builds this pump housing from cast iron and aluminum alloy for heat dispersion and impact survival. The shaft features a polyurethane semi-vortex impeller that prevents sand particles from wedging against the casing volute. Dual silicon carbide mechanical seals run inside an isolated oil reservoir equipped with Tsurumi patented oil lifter mechanism. This system washes lubricant across upper and lower seal faces even when oil levels drop, preventing dry burn damage.

Field Hardware Performance Matrix

Continuous excavation dewatering demands rugged internal components to handle abrasive sand and quarry silt. High-durability urethane wet-end parts and motor protection systems maintain flow under punishing industrial site conditions.

  • 1 HP single-phase motor features miniature thermal motor protectors to shut down power during over-amperage events.
  • 3-inch top discharge port directs pumped water past the motor housing for continuous stator cooling.
  • Urethane semi-vortex impeller outlasts standard ductile iron impellers when pumping high-concentration silica sand.
  • Dual silicon carbide mechanical seals withstand extreme friction from suspended quartz grit and slurry particles.
  • Built-in shaft-mounted agitator suspends settled mud and silt to prevent intake suction blockages.
  • 32-foot heavy-duty submersible power cable features an anti-wicking block to stop water intrusion into motor leads.
  • Rugged cast-iron pump casing withstands jobsite drops and concrete manhole impacts without structural failure.

Dyno Load Realities Heat Data

During dyno basin load testing at 3450 RPM on 115-Volt input, this pump draws 9.5 Amps while discharging 110 GPM against a 15-foot head. Stator housing temperature holds at 128°F in 72°F sump water under continuous run cycles. Current draw climbs to 13.2 Amps if incoming line voltage sags below 104 Volts, tripping internal thermal safeties in under 3 minutes. Sound meter reads 63 dBA at 3 feet distance. Deadhead head pressure peaks at 38 feet where flow drops to zero.

Field Service Application Limits

At 42 pounds, moving this pump down ladder rungs requires two hands on the steel handle. Do not purchase this pump for sewage lift stations with long fibrous rags or heavy industrial string waste. Rags wrap around the lower agitator shaft, jam the motor, and burn out the stator windings.

  • Check the seal lubrication oil clarity every 300 hours by removing the hex inspection plug.
  • Clean hard mud and dried aggregate out from the strainer screen before packing the unit into trucks.
  • Flush the casing with clean water after pumping acidic mine drainage or saltwater pool water.
