Description
Helleborus x glandorfensis HGC Ice N Roses ® ‘Picotee’ is a striking cultivar of the Lenten Rose known for its elegantly ruffled, double blooms that feature a delicate white base edged with soft pink margins, creating a charming picotee effect. This hybrid, developed by H. G. Christiansen Nursery, combines the hardiness and early-blooming qualities of traditional Hellebores with enhanced floral appeal, making it a standout in late winter to early spring gardens. Renowned for its shade tolerance and deer resistance, ‘Picotee’ thrives in well-drained, humus-rich soils and is prized for providing color during a time when few other perennials are in bloom. Its evergreen, leathery foliage adds year-round interest, and the plant’s long bloom period makes it a favorite among gardeners seeking reliable, low-maintenance winter interest. The HGC Ice N Roses series, including ‘Picotee,’ is celebrated for its superior flower form and consistency, contributing to its popularity in both residential and public landscape plantings.
