Description
Euphorbia amygdaloides var. robbiae, commonly known as Wood Spurge ‘Robbiae,’ is an evergreen perennial prized for its dense, bushy growth and glossy, dark green foliage that provides year-round interest in shaded garden areas. Native to woodlands of southeastern Europe, this variety is valued for its adaptability to dry, shady conditions where many plants struggle to thrive. It produces clusters of chartreuse-green flowers in spring, which, while subtle, add texture and attract pollinators without overwhelming the garden. Wood Spurge is known for its resilience, deer resistance, and low maintenance requirements, making it an excellent groundcover or border plant. Notably, this plant has been recognized for its garden merit by several horticultural societies due to its reliability and ornamental appeal in woodland and shade gardens.
