Description
Phlox paniculata ‘Jeana’ Tall Phlox is a striking perennial known for its towering height and vibrant clusters of fragrant flowers that bloom from mid to late summer. Originating from the eastern and central United States, garden phlox has long been cherished for its ability to attract butterflies and hummingbirds, making it a favorite in pollinator-friendly gardens. ‘Jeana’ distinguishes itself with its robust growth habit and large, showy flower panicles in shades of deep pink to magenta, providing dramatic color and vertical interest in perennial borders and cottage gardens. This cultivar thrives best in full sun and well-drained soil, demonstrating excellent disease resistance compared to older varieties, particularly against powdery mildew, which commonly affects phlox species. Its historical use dates back centuries when native American tribes valued phlox for medicinal uses and ornamental purposes. ‘Jeana’ is appreciated by gardeners for its long-lasting blooms and versatility in landscape designs, contributing both aesthetic appeal and ecological benefits.
