Originating from Europe and widely naturalized in North America, this cultivar is renowned for its adaptability to various soil types and light conditions, thriving in both full sun and partial shade. Its glossy, dark green leaves provide year-round interest, making it an excellent choice for erosion control, underplanting in shade gardens, and as a living mulch. ‘Dart’s Blue’ is particularly valued for its vigorous growth and ability to suppress weeds, while its deer resistance adds to its landscape appeal. Historically used in traditional gardens, Vinca minor has been appreciated for centuries for its hardiness and ornamental charm.
