Description
Cornus alba ‘Budd’s Yellow’, commonly known as Yellow Twig Dogwood, is a striking deciduous shrub prized for its vibrant golden-yellow stems that provide year-round visual interest, particularly in the winter landscape when the bright twigs stand out against snow or dormant garden beds. Native to Siberia and northern Asia, this cultivar is a selection of the Siberian dogwood species, valued for its adaptability to a variety of soil types and its resistance to deer and drought once established. ‘Budd’s Yellow’ typically grows to a medium height with an open, arching habit and produces small white flowers in late spring, followed by attractive white berries that attract birds. This plant is often used for erosion control, hedging, or as a colorful focal point in mixed borders. Its unique yellow stems make it a popular choice among landscapers and gardeners seeking winter color without relying on evergreens. Recognized for its ornamental value, ‘Budd’s Yellow’ has been highlighted by various horticultural societies for its landscape versatility and season-long interest.
